Saudi Arabian Football Federation demands 40 Million Dollars in Compensation from Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe!

Some Turkish media who are in Saudi Arabia at the stadium in Riyadh announced that the Super Cup match between Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray was officially postponed!

The match between Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray was supposed to be played at the Al Nassr Stadium with kick-off at 18:45, but it will not happen.

Turkish journalists present at the stadium announced that the match has been canceled and that it will be played at a different time and at a different place, and now only official confirmation from both clubs is awaited.

Just a few hours before the start of the Turkish Super Cup between Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray in Riyadh, a real drama started, and the actual playing of the game is under question.

Namely, the organizers of the match offended the representatives of the Turkish giants. As reported by Akşamspor, the Saudis do not allow players to enter the field wearing T-shirts with the image of the founder of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray wanted to pay tribute to Atatürk on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of the founding of Turkey, but the Saudis not only forbade them to wear T-shirts with the image of the father of the nation, but also did not want to sing the Turkish national anthem before the match.

And while the leaders of the clubs have come to terms with not wearing shirts, they do not want to go beyond not singing the national anthem and have scheduled a crisis meeting where they will make the final decision on playing the game.

“I would like to remind you of the words of our ancestors: ‘Peace at home, peace in the world.’ said the President of Fenerbahce Ali Koç.

After these developments, it was revealed that the Saudi Arabian Football Federation demanded 40 million dollars in compensation from Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe clubs due to the cancellation of the match.

Following the postponement of the match, a statement is expected to be made soon from Turkiye Football Federation, Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe.
