lijekovi-2-640x432Effects of application of the newly adopted Rulebook on the manner of control of prices of medicines in BiH will be felt already in February and savings of ten percent or around 50 million BAM on annual level will be generated on the entire market of medicines in BiH, announced the acting director of the Agency for Medicines of BiH Aleksandar Zolak.

Everyone in BiH will benefit from this, including health funds and institutions.

“Some medicines will be cheaper by 80 percent, some by ten or 60 percent. The price of medicines which was twice as high as in the surrounding countries will be reduced to the level of prices in the surrounding countries,” said Zolak.

Monitoring of application of prices of medicines in accordance with the rulebook will be executed by relevant entity inspection bodies.president of PdP Branislav Borenović said that the adoption of this rulebook is the fulfillment of the promise given to the citizens ten months ago and that it was one of the key priorities for the entrance of that party into the government on BiH level.

Lower prices of medicines have been achieved regardless of challenges, political or expert ones, as well as those related to pharmaceutical companies. Second goal of PDP on the level of BiH, Borenović added, is to push the deadline for payment of VAT to the end of the month.
