BiH Ambassador Declares ‘I Am Not Accountable to the Ministry, I Represent Serbia’

On Saturday, April 26, the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Serbia, Aleksandar Vranješ, stated for the Serbian Tanjug, among other things, that he is the Serbian ambassador, and that he does not send reports to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Vranješ claimed for the Serbian media that BiH is a state union of entities in which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MVP) has only technical jurisdiction over foreign policy.

“I am the Serbian ambassador to BiH, I was not elected by anyone in Sarajevo. The President of the RS proposed all of us Serbian ambassadors to BiH to the member of the Presidency from the ranks of the Serb people.

We do not need to simulate anything now, the time of Yugoslavia is over and I now need to simulate something that I am a representative of political Sarajevo,” said Vranješ.

When asked by reporters whether he sends reports on his work to Sarajevo, Vranješ said that he does not send reports to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, adding that “he only answers to Banja Luka.”
