The Center for Investigative Journalism in Serbia published a story in which it accuses the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) of President Aleksandar Vučić of participating in vote-buying ahead of parliamentary elections in December.

The Center for Investigative Journalism of Serbia accused SNS of having connected with a call center that offered its employees triple salary if they voted for the party in early parliamentary elections on December 17.

It was discovered by a journalist who applied for a job at the said center with the aim of finding out if it was really about buying votes.

The journalist stated that she was offered a daily wage of 9,000 dinars (150 BAM) instead of the original 3,000 in the aforementioned call center, on the condition that she votes for SNS in the elections.

According to the published communication with the employer, she should have taken a photo of her ballot as proof.

The last elections in Serbia were last April. Together with coalition allies, SNS has a comfortable majority. Despite this, in October, Vučić announced the calling of early elections due to the demonstration, Klix.ba reports.
