High Representative Christian Schmidt briefed the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee on the causes of the stalled EU integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, highlighting the political and financial challenges the country faces, the OHR’s X page reported.

He stressed that the crisis is solvable, but that certain actors must prioritize the well-being of the country over party politics.

“We must work in the interests of the people of BiH, we must work together to help establish a functional state that is rapidly progressing on the path to European integration,” Schmidt said.
