Trilateral Summit of Presidents of Serbia, Turkey and BiH Began

The trilateral summit of the presidents of Serbia, Turkey and BiH began in Ankara today.

The welcoming ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Ankara took place at 10:10 today.

The trilateral meeting began at 10:30.

Participants at the summit are the Presidents of Turkey and Serbia Abdulah Gul and Tomislav Nikolić, respectively, and members of the BiH Presidency Nebojša Radmanović, Bakir Izetbegović and Željko Komšić.

At the opening of the summit, President Gul said that the leaders of Balkan countries have shown courage and determination in dealing with the past.

“We attach great importance to the relations with BiH and Serbia with the goal of lasting peace and stability in the Balkans. Within this framework, I met in February with President Nikolić, and in January with member of the BIH Presidency Izetbegović. We had constructive discussions on issues of regional importance’’, said Gul.

At the end of the meeting, the adoption of a declaration is expected and a joint conference for journalists will be held.

According to the protocol, at 14:00 members of the BiH Presidency will have a bilateral meeting with the President of Serbia, and at 16:00 they will meet with the President of Turkey.
