The funeral procession of the seven victims of the Srebrenica genocide in Sarajevo was attended by the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt.

As he said, paying tribute to the victims and supporting the survivors will lead us towards healing, reconciliation and a more just future.

“The commemoration of the genocide is a powerful reminder of our shared humanity that will prevent such crimes from ever happening again. May this day strengthen our collective commitment to remembering with dignity, to speaking the truth with courage and to striving for peace with unwavering determination,” Schmidt said.

The procession stopped today in front of the BiH Presidency building, where citizens and officials placed flowers on a truck carrying coffins.
The victims who will be buried on July 11 were found in different graves and time periods.
