farukBurch Olympiad is the biggest competition for the high school students in B&H. Contestants had the opportunity to compete in the following categories: Engineering, Web Design, I have an Idea, Environment, and Short Film.

School of Electrical Engineering in Tuzla, which has been actively preparing for this competition, has achieved remarkable results and won one first prize, two second prizes, and one third prize.

The first place in the category of Engineering with an innovative project “Smart Sand Sign” was won by Faruk Čidić, whose mentor was prof. Asmir Mandžukić. Faruk also won a 100 percent scholarship for studying at any department at Burch University. Closely following him, the second place went to Kenan Mehinović with the “Power Pack” project, whose mentor was prof. Elsad Sadiković.

Faruk said: “Winning first place in this kind of competition is indescribable, because studying at the Burch University is my longtime and I am free to say life ambition. Gold medal and 100% scholarship for studying at the Burch University that I won at Burch Project Olympiad will definitely change my life, because I was practically financially enabled to study at the best university in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am honored to be Burch’s scholarship holder and study at this University and I hope that, through my efforts and projects in the coming years, I will justify their trust and trust given by the School of Electrical Engineering in Tuzla and the entire Tuzla Canton.”

Mehmed Sulejmanagić and Emir Muharemagić in category “I have an idea” won the second place with the project “Change begins with you!”. In the category of Web design, Tarik Dahic and Vedran Zivkovic won the third place with the project “Schoolarko”, the first chat bot for school children. Their mentor was prof. Dejan Bojic.
