SDA called on IC to “to stop retreating before Dodik and his arrogant Policy”

The SDA collegium warned that the latest statements of the president of the Republika Srpska (RS) entity Milorad Dodik, announcing the introduction of police control on the inter-entity line and threatening the secession of the RS entity, represent the most serious attack on the Dayton Peace Agreement and the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

Such announcements, according to the SDA, are a direct threat to peace in BiH and the region.

“It is high time that the High Representative reacts within the framework of his mandate, as well as that the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH finally sanctions the unconstitutional and illegal activities of Milorad Dodik”, the SDA stated.

They called on representatives of the international community, especially members of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) and the NATO alliance, “to stop retreating before Dodik and his arrogant policy.”

“If decisive and concrete steps are not taken even after such threats, all those listed will bear part of the responsibility for the severe consequences that may follow,” SDA added.

They are asking the current government at the state level “to stop the policy of concessions to Milorad Dodik and relativizing its danger”.

“Instead of futile reactions, concrete steps should be taken within the institutions of the state of BiH,” the SDA concluded.
