The president of the Serb Democratic Party (SDS), Mirko Šarović, confirmed his resignation at the session of the Main Board of the SDS yesterday in Bijeljina and transferred all powers, until the election of a new leader of the party, to the president of the Main Board Milan Miličević.

The Main Board of the SDS made a decision yesterday on entering the internal party elections.

Miličević said that his real obligation is to propose a team to the Main Board at the session that will be held very soon, which should be called acting SDS Presidency.

According to him, this will be the team that will lead the party until the end of the internal party elections, where everyone will be elected, from the local committees to the SDS president.

Miličević said that SDS is not satisfied with the results of the past elections.

He said that the political position of SDS is clear.

“We have no intention in any way to be collaborators of the regime we fought against. In order for the fight against the regime to be quality and good, and in order to improve the position of Republika Srpska and the standards of the people who live in it, we need to modernize the party’s way of working, because the way it has been done so far has proven to be ineffective,” Miličević pointed out.

Mirko Šarović said that as party president, in accordance with the SDS Statute, he transferred his presidential powers to Milan Miličević. He emphasized that it was important that all decisions at today’s session of the General Assembly were unanimous, SDS announced.
