In front of mosque in Bascarsija in Sarajevo, 10th anniversary event “Selam, ya Resulallah- days about prophet Muhammed s.a.w.s“ was officially opened tonight.
The event is organized by the Association of Islamic Community Sarajevo (AIC) on the occasion of the beginning of Rabi’ al- Awwal, month of the birth of prophet Muhammed s.a.w.s.
Event is opened by the chief imam of AIC Sarajevo, dr. Ferid Dautovic, and a special programme is performed by the members of the choir of AIC Sarajevo, after which citizens and passengers traditionally got cakes and sherbet.
“It is very important to present Islam and Muhammed s.a.w.s as he was, mild, and this event is a motive to learn more about what he did and recommended to be done“ said dr. Dautovic.
Considering the fact that this is the 10th anniversary year, he pointed out that the event is enriched by the content that is at urban level, in order for young people to identify with these contents. Additionally, event will help to imams to become closer to youth and show them the greatness and width of Islam, with tradition that it developed and guarded for centuries in this region.
Sarajevo confectioners donated about 3.000 cakes that are served for tonight’s opening.
Cultural and religious event “Selam, ya Resulallah- days about prophet Muhammed s.a.w.s“ lasts until 23rg of January.
