Serbian President criticized the EP’s Report on BiH: There are no worse Secessionists than them

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic yesterday in Davos harshly criticized the latest report of the European Parliament (EP), saying that those who adopt such documents are ”rude and reckless”…

…because they have double standards regarding secessionism.

On the occasion of the Report on the implementation of the common foreign and security policy for 2022, which was adopted by the EP yesterday, Vucic told the Serbian media that it was about ”unbelievable conclusions”, expressing resignation due to the parts related to Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

He stated that the document ”condemns a series of escalating moves by Serbia and actors supported by Serbia, which include illegitimate blockades, violent attacks, and the threat of military action”, and that an amendment was adopted that condemns secessionist rhetoric and activities in BiH and calls for the adoption of sanctions against officials of third countries who support secessionist policies in that country.

”And are there worse secessionists, that is, supporters of secessionist policies than those who call for it, those 22 countries of the European Union (EU) that recognized Kosovo, are there worse secessionists than them? You wonder if there is an end to human rudeness,” said Vucic, who is participating in the World Economic Forum in Davos.

He said that tomorrow in Belgrade he will meet with the representatives of Germany, France, Italy, the United States (U.S.), and the EU special representative Miroslav Lajcak, stating that he expects ”a very, very difficult conversation”.

”We are facing very difficult times, I say this, especially considering (today’s) conversation with Lajcak. Nobody here wants to hear or see that there is a different view. They are only interested in sanctions, independent Kosovo, there is no opposition to anything, whoever opposes is our opponent,” he said yesterday.

Moreover, Vucic said that Serbia is facing a ”decisive, judgmental” year, ”one of the most difficult in modern history, both politically and economically”.

Vucic also said that the head of state of Serbia will address the public ”on Monday at the latest” to announce ”what is expected of Serbia regarding Kosovo and the introduction of sanctions against Russia”.

Regarding the statement of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti that an agreement between Belgrade and Pristina can be reached in the next few months, Vucic said that ”it can be done the day after tomorrow if Kurti gives up his secessionist demands”.
