The ”Truth” Association from Goražde has organized yesterday an action of cleaning the locality in the Goražde Municipality where a foundation stone for the construction of the ”A Roof For All” Center, whose main purpose is to provide shelter for children without parental care and infirm persons, should be laid in June.
The Project Manager of the construction of the center Munira Džabija expressed her satisfaction with the development of the action which is to be continued in the future, in order to completely clear up the site before the foundation stone is placed.
”Everything was overgrown in scrubs, the participants worked diligently, and the attendance was satisfactory. Goražde Municipality, the Fire Department and Civil Protection from Goražde also participated in the cleaning action, and provided us with the tools for work”, she said.
She emphasized that, at the meeting held earlier this month in Goražde, the Organizing Committee decided that the manifestation of laying the foundation stone for the construction of this center is to be held on Monday, June 15th. Officials of various levels of government, the ambassadors in B&H, as well as other representatives of the governmental and nongovernmental sectors will be invited.
The Center “A Roof For All” will be built in Rešetnica in the Municipality of Goražde. The construction will be done in phases as the means arrive, under the auspices of the Association of refugees, displaced persons, socially disadvantaged, disabled, diseased, disabled veterans and demobilized soldiers “Truth”.
The facilities that are to operate within the center are home for pensioners, rehabilitation center, center for help for the children with special needs, dialysis center, and various kinds of counseling centers. The construction of two houses for the accommodation of children without parental care, as well as the facilities for women victims of domestic violence and their children, are also planned.
The center is to have its own livestock fund, barns, greenhouses and orchards, and everything that exceeds the needs of the center will be donated to those in need.
The plan is to, once its built, make this first of its kind center in B&H self-sustainable and to subsequently build similar centers in other parts of the country.
Around eight million BAM is needed for the completion of the project, and about 40 people of various profiles will be employed. For now, it is uncertain how long will it take to end the overall project, and Džabija said that the first phase-the construction of the house intended for the children without parental care and related facilities, greenhouses and barns-is for certain.
“We will have our livestock, barns, greenhouses and orchards, and all that exceeds the needs of the center will be donated to those in need. Besides having 40 employees, the center will be the factory of humanitarian aid for the people of B&H”, she said.
The possibilities to help building this center are varied. A humanitarian phone number 090-291-070 is in function, the calls are valid only within the BH Telecom network, and a call is equal to a donation of 2 BAM for the construction of this center.
In order to raise money to build this center, a charity dinner for the representatives of various levels of government, embassies in B&H and other public figures was organized earlier this year. The organizers were pleased with the response, and a number of those invited who were not able to attend because of the previous commitments paid the registration fee for the dinner.
