Severina spoke out after she was detained on Sunday  night at the border between Serbia and Croatia.

In a series of photos that the singer published on Instagram, she said: “I will not go to Serbia while its dictator is in power.” In the photos, she explained what happened that evening and emphasized that she did not want it to happen again to anyone.

“The incident that happened to me at the border with Serbia is described in detail in the photos. What happened to me, I don’t want to ever happen again to anyone. Because of freedom of thought and speech, because of us, our children, because of so much love that travels daily through our border…. We are here, for each other and for each other,” she wrote.

Severina pointed out that Croatia should not reciprocate and that her colleagues should come and work without hindrance.

“Let’s go girls, let’s go boys, students and pupils, police officers… especially the border guards. Let’s not, please, return the same measure now. Let my colleagues from Serbia continue to come and work in Croatia unhindered. Cooperation in culture must not stop, the economy is unstoppable anyway. The only ones who can profit from this are the politicians and their cabal,” she stated.

The singer then thanked for the support and pointed out that she received the most messages of support from Serbia.

“Thank you all for your support, thank you for the many messages, which I don’t even have time to read, let alone publish. Most of them are from Serbia: Belgrade, Novo Sad, Šabac, Pazar, Čačak, Niš, Loznica… apologies to those I left out , you filled my heart. You all write the same thing: ‘Serbia is not Vučić, Serbia is us,'” she adds.

As a reminder, Severina Vučković was detained on Sunday evening at the border between Croatia and Serbia. The Serbian police “conducted the usual interrogation procedure, which is applied to all persons whose statements are considered questionable by the Serbian state authorities.”

After discussions with the competent authorities, Severina was granted entry into Serbia. Nevertheless, the singer decided to return to Croatia on her own initiative, instead of continuing her journey to Serbia, Klix.ba writes.
