Amusement park Sunnyland is only the first phase of investment which is of great importance not only for Sarajevo, but also for the entire BiH, said Sheikh Mohammed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the director of the company Emirates Ltd.
“Citizens of BiH must be aware that God gave them one of the most beautiful countries in the world. So the proper question that investors should ask themselves is why not to invest in BiH,” said al Qasimi.
He added that he decided on investment on Trebevic because it offers an extraordinary view on Sarajevo.
He is satisfied with the cooperation with local authorities and he praised the Mayor (East Stari Grad) and the municipality itself for the support.
“I am grateful to the people of the RS in Banja Luka, who also supported the project, but also to all those who participated in the project. I must say that we have the full support of the police, who often walk around this area, especially on weekends,” he added.
“We are waiting for a feasibility study that will show us what kinds of content can be included here. What we intend to make are facilities that will complete the project of adrenaline park Sunnyland. They are primarily outdoor playground for children, climbing rock, semi-professional climbing rock for adults. We are exploring the possibilities to make ice rink,” said Qasimi.
“When it comes to the concrete construction of apartments and villas, I cannot tell whether it will actually happen. We have a lot of ideas, but the priority is the introduction of new content in Sunnyland. My idea is to make this an area that will be designed for everyone and even if it comes to villas, I can promise you that our first guests will be citizens of BiH, he said.
Al Qasimi added that he is planning investments on other locations as well, primarily on Igman, in the modernization and expansion of the hotel Feri.
“And not just a hotel, there will be multi-functional facilities, hotel with health tourism. We want to develop the segment of sports and health and spa tourism. I cannot talk about the value of the investment, because it will ultimately depend on the reliefs that we are counting on,” concluded Al Qasimi.
