Shock in Israel: The IDF killed a “Hero”, a Jew who prevented a terrorist Attack

The terrorist attack in Jerusalem last wek, in which three people were killed and several people were wounded, wrote another tragic story. According to the Israeli media, an Israeli young man who wanted to prevent the bloody march of terrorists also lost his life, and was shot by members of the Israeli forces while he was kneeling and shouting “don’t shoot”. The entire incident was recorded by surveillance cameras.

The family of 37-year-old Yuval Doron Castleman, who died on Friday after being shot at the scene of a terrorist attack in Jerusalem by a soldier who apparently mistook him for a terrorist, labeled the young man’s death an “execution.”

Castleman was taken to Sha’arei Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem in critical condition and was pronounced dead shortly before midnight on what would have been his 38th birthday.

“Yuval noticed the terrorist attack on the other side of the road while driving to work at the government complex and stopped the car to stop the terrorists,” Channel 13 quoted his family as saying on Friday.

Video from the scene showed Castleman dropping the gun, falling to his knees and raising his hands in the air while yelling ”don’t shoot” as soldiers approached him. Then one of them shot him.

His family told Channel 13 News that Yuval’s death was an “execution.”

“We want to know exactly what happened. In the video, you can see him going after the terrorists and neutralizing them, and suddenly they shoot him,” said Castleman’s father, Moshe.

According to the Jerusalem Post, Israeli security forces have been condemned in the past for shooting and killing terror suspects even after they have been disarmed and no longer pose a threat, contrary to orders to open fire.

Far-right lawmaker Zvi Sukkot posted a photo of one of the soldiers on social media with the caption “hero,” but later deleted it when it became clear that the person shot was Israeli.

Netanyahu is pilloried

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu speaks with the father of Yuval Castleman, for whose murder he previously said “it’s life”, after which he found himself the target of fierce criticism. Netanyahu described the slain Yuval as a “hero” for saving more lives during the terror attack before he was shot dead by an Israeli soldier, N1 reports.
