The State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) plans to establish a special basic organizational unit next year – the Sector for Combating Terrorism.

It was stated in the Pre-Draft Work Program of SIPA for 2022, which is in the process of consultations.

Judging by the announcements, a plague called terrorism will be the focus of this agency’s work next year.

“The activities of individuals, groups, organizations, as well as institutions that deal with incitement, financing, planning, or in any other way with helping terrorism will be continuously monitored and researched,” SIPA stated.

As they added, financial flows and transactions through which material and other support to terrorist organizations are provided will be monitored and researched.

“Especially, the activities of certain companies, humanitarian organizations, associations, and other legal entities that are suspected of being related to the financing of terrorist activities will be investigated,” it was pointed out in the Preliminary Draft of the SIPA Work Program for 2022.

In addition, SIPA announced that activities will be continued on cases related to individuals and organizations that show any kind of extremism and radicalism.

“Preventive and repressive measures will be undertaken with the aim of preventing violent radicalism, extremism, and terrorism,” SIPA pointed out, Nezavisne writes.
