SIPA Police arrested Three Persons for Human Trafficking

Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) arrested three persons on Friday in Mostar on suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina for international trafficking, in connection with a criminal offense under Article 189 of smuggling people.

Acting on an order from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, SIPA police officers searched three locations in Mostar and on that occasion discovered two smuggled persons who were found to be nationals of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Iraq and temporarily seized items that could serve as evidence in further criminal proceedings.

Following criminal processing at the SIPA premises, the arrested persons will be transferred to further jurisdiction of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
