The State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) made an announcement regarding the action “Sljivica” that was launched on Tuesday, July 9, and referred to the previous results of police activities in that direction.

As announced, the police officers of the State Agency for Investigation and Protection, with the assistance of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Tuzla Canton and the Administration for Indirect Taxation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, conducted an operational action codenamed “Sljivice” on July 9, 2024. ” and conducted searches of persons, buildings and movable property at 18 locations in the area of ​​Tuzla, Živinice, Lukavac, Gračanica, Šamac, Bijeljina and Zvornik, according to the orders of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

One suspect is on the run, while 13 suspects were deprived of their liberty during the implementation of the operational action and were interrogated as suspects, on the authority of the prosecutor, in the premises of the State Agency for Investigation and Protection, after which the persons were treated in accordance with the instructions of the acting prosecutor.

Persons deprived of liberty are suspected of having committed the criminal offense of “Organized crime”, in connection with the criminal offenses of “Illegal circulation of excise goods”, “Illegal storage of goods”, “Illegal trade” and “Money laundering”, prescribed by the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the search, the following items were found and temporarily confiscated, which can be used as evidence in criminal proceedings and which can be linked to the commission of criminal offenses for which the suspects are suspected, and in connection with the commission of other criminal offenses: 36,500 packs of cigarettes, money – approx. 9,000 BAM, three passenger motor vehicles, approx. 100 kg of tobacco in a sheet, approx. 230 kg of cut tobacco, empty filters for filling cigarettes – approx. 59,000 pieces, two machines for cutting tobacco, two machines for filling cigarettes, five manual machines for filling cigarettes , three digital scales, 15 mobile phones, 14 SIM cards and one video surveillance recorder. The value of temporarily seized goods and objects is about 450,000 BAM.
