Six Minors are connected with Desecration of Religious Symbols in BiH

Police in the Central Bosnia Canton (SBC) have identified six minors who are connected to the case of desecration of religious symbols and writing graffiti in an abandoned school in Gornji Vakuf-Uskoplje, confirmed for BHRT the spokesman of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the SBC, Hasan Hodžić.

The aforementioned case, which will be qualified by the competent prosecutor’s office in the continuation of the investigation, was reported to the police yesterday when the investigation was carried out.

After effective operational work of police officers in the field, it was determined that at least six minors participated in the desecration of a religious symbol and writing graffiti in an abandoned school, which is why, in addition to the Prosecutor’s Office, the local Center for Social Work is involved in the investigation of the whole case.

The desecration of a religious symbol and the writing of graffiti was condemned by the Coordination of Veterans’ Associations of the HVO, which, in its public response, stated, among other things, that the graffiti in question calls for hate speech, religious and national intolerance, as well as that such thoughtless actions by irresponsible individuals encourage tensions and disrupt the good inter-neighborly and inter-ethnic relations that adorn the municipality of Gornji Vakuf-Uskoplje in the post-war period.

The Croatian National Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HNS BiH) has also spoken out about the case from Gornji Vakuf – Uskoplje, which strongly condemns the latest act of desecrating Catholic symbols of Croats and writing graffiti which, they claim, contains hate speech against Croats in that municipality.

HNS BiH calls on competent authorities in BiH to take all necessary measures to sanction perpetrators of crimes in Uskoplje and other places. HNS BiH, they emphasized, will know how to adequately protect the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
