Snow has blanketed the streets and parks of Istanbul, Turkey’s most populous city.

It has been snowing for two days, prompting the suspension of classes in all schools in the Turkish city on two continents today.

The snow quickly covered parts of the city yesterday, while in the evening it turned into rain in some neighborhoods.

Meteorologists are predicting continued snowfall and cold weather in Istanbul the following day.

In the European part of Istanbul, snow is falling in the higher areas of Silivri and Catalca. Camlica Hill, one of the symbols of Istanbul, is also covered in a white blanket.

The snowfall has delighted children who are taking the opportunity to play in the snow.

On the other hand, the snow has significantly hampered traffic, with many drivers having difficulty navigating the slippery road, AA writes.
