Soon in Sarajevo: the 4th International Festival “Muzika na žici” / “Music on a string”

Muzika_na_zici_2014The classic music art amateurs will soon have the chance to attend many top-quality concerts to be held within the 4th International festival “Music on a string”.

The festival will be held from October 15th to October 19th.

This year’s festival will present some exceptionally interesting and a bit unusual programs. The concerts entitled “Moz-Art à la Haydn” will start on October 15th in the House of Armed forces, accompanied by the Chamber ensemble “Music on a string” and the Ukrainian violinist and orchestra conductor Orest Shourgot and our distinguished violinist Violeta Smailović-Huart who is also the founder of this festival.

The following concert nights offer various music experiences: “Russian romance” and “French key” will be performed by world-wide famous Russian musicians Vasilij Shcherbakov, professor at the famous Conservatory Tschaikowski and Rustam Komachkov, a violoncellist from Moscow.

On Saturday, October 18th, a concert entitled “Panta Rhei” will be held at the National theatre Sarajevo, in cooperation with the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra. The concert is dedicated to marking of 30 years since the death of the Bosnian composer Avdo Smailović with participation of the pianist Meira Smailović, harpist Mojca Zlobko-Vajgl and conducted by the famous Anton Nanut.

One part of the festival activities will take place at the Atelier “Figure” and the patisseries “Torte I to” while during the entire festival, classic music will be played in several café bars and restaurants partners of the event.
