Head of the European Union Delegation and EU Special Representative to BiH, Luigi Soreca, assessed that today’s developments regarding the adoption of the Reform Agenda for the Growth Plan of Bosnia and Herzegovina are truly welcome for the country.

“This important step forward confirms that the European path is a common framework within which political actors act for the benefit of all citizens in the country,” stated Soreca on the social network X.

He added that the European Commission will analyze the Reform Agenda to verify its compliance with EU standards.

If the decision of the Commission and the member states is positive, BiH will qualify for the withdrawal of 976.6 million euros under the Growth Plan, in exchange for the implementation of reforms from the Agenda.

According to him, this represents a significant incentive for investment, employment and economic growth.

Soreca also recalled the words of the European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, who recently emphasized in her address to the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH that the Growth Plan represents a unique offer with the potential to transform the country – from the construction of roads, through more affordable energy sources, to faster and better quality internet.

“The European Union remains a strong partner and faithful friend, supporting the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the EU,” said the EU ambassador to BiH.
