bigHead of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina and European Union Special Representative, Ambassador Peter Sorensen, met today with Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr Bakir Izetbegovic.

“Swift government formation at all levels is of the utmost importance. Incoming authorities must get on with addressing the real challenges that BiH faces as soon as possible. The economic and social issues in particular cannot wait. It is now up to those elected to deliver in the next four years”, said Ambassador Sorensen in his farewell meeting with the BiH Presidency Chairman.

Ambassador Sorensen also stressed that both the EU and BiH citizens want Bosnia and Herzegovina to join the European Union.

The meeting with Chairman Izetbegovic was the last in a series of farewell meetings undertaken by Ambassador Sorensen this week. Earlier, the Head of EU Delegation and EU Special Representative met with BiH Presidency Member, Mr. Nebojsa Radmanovic, BiH Council of Ministers Chairman, Mr Vjekoslav Bevanda, and BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Zlatko Lagumdzija.

Ambassador Peter Sorensen concludes his mandate in Bosnia and Herzegovina on 31 October 2014.
