Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo Besnik Beslimi announced yesterday that Spain has recognized Kosovo passports, which means that in the future residents will travel without visas.
Bislimi said that the General Directorate for Migration and Home Affairs of the European Union EU (DG Home) announced that Spain recognizes the passports of Kosovo.
“The good news continues. For our citizens and the country. DG Home said that now even Spain recognizes the passports of the Republic of Kosovo. So we can travel without visas to this country. While the visa-free regime started on January 1st, Spain is a destination that adds to the countries of the Schengen area to which we can travel through liberalization, where previously the obstacle was the non-recognition of our passport,” Bislimi wrote on Facebook.
The Deputy Prime Minister further wrote that the work will continue to bring good news “that positively affects our citizens”. It is important to note that Spain is one of the five EU countries that still does not recognize the independence of Kosovo.
Thus, for example, at one of the earlier sports meetings between Spain and Kosovo, the players of Kosovo were not allowed to be treated as sovereign states during the match.
And visa liberalization for Kosovo began on January 1st of this year, Klix.ba writes.
