Spas from BiH and Serbia in joint program of health tourism

aquapark_fojnica_1Yesterday, a partnership agreement between Tourist Organisation of Western Serbia and Local Democracy Foundation (LDF) from Sarajevo was signed in Užice. Those two organisations are implementing the over-border cooperation project ‘Development and Promotion of Health Tourism in Over-Border Program of Serbia and BiH –CROS SPA’ and the value of the project is 452 152 EUR and it is being financed by the EU.

Manager of Tourist organisation of Western Serbia region Miroslav Rađen noted that the aim of the project is strengthening regional cooperation and sustainable economic development of bordering regions through establishing joint integrated offer of health tourism.

‘Health tourism is the most promising tourist product which amounted to 60 billion USD of profit. last year in the world. Zlatibor district has a developed tourism and apart from these already well-known tourist spots, we want to promote smaller spots, which are still unknown, such as Visočka, Staparska and Raška Banja’ said Rađen.

The project will encompass air spas in Serbia, but in BiH it’ll encompass thermal water spas such as Ilidža, Fojnica, Kiseljak and Aquaterm, said manager of  LDF Jasmina Mujezinović

‘With the realization of this project, the development and marketing of the joint product of health tourism will improve the over-border cooperation through spreading the assortment of tourist products that promote healthy life. Our aim is to place the joint health program in region countries and in the EU’ , said Mujezinović.

Partners of this project are agencies ‘Zlatibor’ from Užica and ‘Serda’ from Sarajevo.
