Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić met today in Berlin with the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the German Bundestag, Michael Roth, and expressed his gratitude for the diplomatic efforts of the Federal Republic of Germany regarding the granting of candidate status to Bosnia and Herzegovina in December 2022.

He introduced him to the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the legislative priorities of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the coming period.

The Chair of the Committee Roth said that Germany is dedicated to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans region and emphasized the support for the Euro-Atlantic path.

Zvizdić and Roth pointed out that it is necessary to intensify the processes of fulfilling the fourteen priorities from the Opinion of the European Commission, to speed up the path towards European integration. The interlocutors agreed that it is necessary to stop secessionist rhetoric and emphasized that such a policy will not be tolerated.

Roth reiterated that his country sees Bosnia and Herzegovina as a single, sovereign, multinational and multi-confessional state and said that Germany will continue to support Bosnia and Herzegovina on this path.

Zvizdić is on a two-day working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, during which he will have meetings with high-ranking officials of the Bundestag and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, Zvizdić’s office announced, the Press Service of the BiH PA stated.
