Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in BiH, Chen Bo, and Prime Minister of Canton Sarajevo, Elmedin Konakovic, are hosts of the most spectacular welcome of the Chinese New Year, which will be held on Wednesday, the 18th of January in the capital of BiH.
Prominent guests from the diplomatic world and the cultural and political life will enjoy the performance of “Happy Chinese New Year” in the National Theatre that will be performed at 7 pm by Sichuan Youth Art Ensemble. The citizens of Sarajevo and all interested parties who find themselves in front of the National Theatre will be able to observe the performance of the troops on the great LED screen and BHRT will subsequently broadcast the entire ceremony. Half an hour before the performance, at 6:30 pm in front of the National Theatre, will be made fireworks on the occasion of the Chinese New Year, which begins on the 28th of January 2017.
Sichuan Youth Art Ensemble that performs in Sarajevo is one of the most famous art troupes in the province that is known for its interesting culinary culture. It consists of Sichuan Youth Opera Ensemble, Youth Singing and Dance Ensemble, and Sichuan Children’s Ensemble, which is under the Professional Art College of Sichuan.
This troupe is one of the most representative promoters of Sichuan Province in the world. They performed in 40 different countries and regions including the United States, Great Britain, through Germany, Russia, Sweden and Romania to the Brazil and Japan. Several very famous artists in China are part of these troops, such as Chen Zhilin, Xiao Deme, Lan Tian Yu Erge, Chongmin Li, Zhang Qinghua, Yu Hanlei, Zheng Shengli, Zhou Xuezhen, Cai Yakang, Zheng Jie and Li Bing.
Chinese New Year or Spring Festival is the most important feast that is celebrated in China, but also among Chinese people around the world. It is celebrated on the first day of the first month of the new lunar year and it was established since the time of the Xia Dynasty (2100 to 1600 BC). During the spring festival, many people decorate windows with different paper shapes such as characters from Chinese opera, flowers, birds, fish … In the northern part of China, the custom of this feast is to gather family and eat pasta jiaozi.
