At press conference, organised on the occasion of premiere of film ”Episode in the Life of an Iron Picker”  in Berlin ,BiH director Danis Tanović said that he likes to make films that deal with big issues , and that this film is just one episode in  the life of one Romany family, reports FENA.

The film will have its premiere in the afternoon in the official Competition program of Berlin Film Festival.

The film was recorded a year ago, and it was inspired by a truth story of Romany man Nazif who supports his family by collecting old iron, and Senada, who because she does not have health insurance is denied medical treatment, although she is very ill. The heroes of this film are real people Nazif Mujić and Senada Alimanović.

Tanović said there are no real actors in the film apart from two doctors, and that all protagonists are actually real people from Tuzla, where this family lives.

Film was produced by Amra Bakšić-Čamo, and it’s a low budget film which was supported by Film Foundation of Sarajevo

”Episode in the Life of an Iron Picker” is the fifth feature-length film of Danis Tanović.

Apart from premiere the film will be shown five more times at the Berlin Film Festival.
