The potential of Pale Municipality in tourism and other sectors of the economy were presented to the Head of the European Delegation Peter Sorensen, Ambassador of Slovenia to BiH Andre Grasselli and the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Italian Embassy Stefan Stucci during a meeting with leaders in Pale.

During the meeting they spoke of the development of Jahorina, problems that Pale is facing and what has been done until now, and the Mayor of Pale Miodrag Kovačević said that this municipality has significant resources for development.

A project for gondolas was also presented, which would go from Pale to Jahorina. They also spoke about the possibility to attract foreign investors to Pale, especially to Jahorina. They concluded that it was necessary to establish cooperation in the region, because this is the only way to increase competition.

In this regard, they mentioned projects to make bicycle trails that would connect the Olympic mountain Bjelašnica, Igman and Jahorina, and for Sarajevo City and City of East Sarajevo to jointly organize the Winter Youth Festival 2017

The Head of the EU in BiH Sorensen said that local government is one of the most important levels of government in the process of EU integration, because it has the closest contact with citizens.

It is why these kinds of visits are especially important, given that local authorities are best aware of how things function.

The Ambassador of Slovenia Grasselli assessed the perspective that was given to the Ambassadors and said he hopes to be able to convey to leaders in Slovenia some ideas that could be implemented.

After the meeting in the municipal building of Pale Sorensen, Grasselli and Stucci had a meeting with representatives of the business community and students from the University of East Sarajevo.
