Borovac Coordination klix.baAt yesterday’s meeting of the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees of B&H Semiha Borovac and representatives of the Regional coordination of associations of missing persons from former Yugoslavia, which gathers six alliances and 12 associations from the area of former Yugoslavia, it was concluded that maximum efforts must be put in order to accelerate the process of searching for missing persons in B&H.

On behalf of the Coordination, Semina Alekić, Seida Karabašić and Smilja Mitrović highlighted that it is impossible to speak about searching for missing persons and especially about intensifying activities on that plan without solving problems in activities of the Institute for Missing Persons of B&H, full implementation of the Law on Missing Persons of B&H, and more active engagement of the Prosecutor’s Office of B&H, especially regarding approval of warrants for inspection of 400 potential mass grave locations.

Minister Borovac pointed out that results of previous work regarding searching for missing persons in B&H are evident and they reflect in nearly 18,000 identified missing persons.

“At the same time, the fact that it is still being searched for more than 8,000 missing persons in B&H reflects the seriousness of this problem in the best way, as well as the obligation of both authorities and society in general to commit to solving the problem of missing persons to the maximum,” Minister Borovac said.
