A successful weekend is behind the competitors of the SPID Swimming Club from Sarajevo. This weekend, the international open paraswimming championship “Zadar Open 2025” was held, in which 150 swimmers from 18 clubs from Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina participated.

The competition was held in the senior category and the results were evaluated by paraswimming classes, and Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented by five swimmers who had 17 starts, of which they won 17 medals.

SPID swimmers won 15 gold and two silver medals.

Selma Purić and Olympic vice-champion Ismail Barlov led the way with four gold medals each. Kanita Šabanović and Ismail Zulfić added three of the most brilliant medals each, while Hena Godinjak finished the performance with one gold and two silver medals.

The team performed under the leadership of coaches Ilda Kukuruzović and Amel Kapo.

“We congratulate the organizers of the Zadar Swimming Club with their great and always friendly coaches on the excellent organization of the competition. Our swimmers showed good form before their appearance at the international paraswimming competition Sarajevo Open 2025, organized by our club in early June. See you in Sarajevo, and we dedicate these medals to our swimmer Elmedina Đocaj, who underwent successful surgery and we wish her a speedy recovery,” the SPID Swimming Club announced.
