Spring in January: 16 °C this morning in Neum, our Neighbors started Swimming

neumAfter almost a month, or 22 days to be precise, when Sarajevo was chained with fog and smog, we finally got a touch of winter, low temperatures, the first snow and everything that is typical for the winter months.

However, winter fairy tale did not last for too long. After only few days of snow and minuses, this morning B&H dawned in real spring morning. The temperature measured in Neum at 8 am was 16°C, 14°C in Mostar, 11°C in Sarajevo…

Unusually warm weather for this time of the year will continue through the next few days because forecasts are stating that mostly cloudy weather and rain will not significantly affect the temperatures, which on Monday will be between 7 °C to 14°C during the day, while in the south they might be up to 17°C.

Similar weather conditions are announced on Tuesday and Wednesday, with temperatures only slightly below the maximum.

Colder weather will return on the 16th of January.

And while only few walkers were passing by the beach in Bar, Montenegro, dressed in winter jackets, scarves and hats, one brave man went into the sea in the middle of January!

If you thought that he just tossed himself into the sea, and came out to dry, you are wrong – he was bathing and enjoying for a good twenty minutes. Bold indeed!
