Parliamentary Assembly of North Atlantic Alliance adopted declaration on transatlantic partnership during the regular spring session which was held from 30 May to 1 June in the capital city of Lithuania, Vilnius. The need to strengthen the unity of the alliance and to promote the policy of “open doors” was specially emphasized in the declaration, in regard to full membership in NATO in particular for B&H, Montenegro, Macedonia and Georgia.
Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of B&H Parliamentary Assembly and Chairman of Parliamentary Assembly Delegation of B&H to Parliamentary Assembly NATO Božo Ljubić participated in the session of NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA). He introduced the colleagues of NATO PA with the situation in B&H after the recent catastrophic floods in our country, emphasizing the need for urgent support to population in recovering from consequences of floods.
More participants of the session, including NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen expressed their solidarity with the Western Balkan countries affected by floods.
In addition to Rasmussen, the Chairman of NATO PA Hugh Bayley, as well as officials of Lithuania addressed the audience during the three day session.
