Deputies of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) supported the appointment of the new State Minister of Finance and Treasury Srdjan Amidzic from the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) at yesterday’s emergency session.

The appointment of Amidzic as the Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH was necessary after the previous minister, Zoran Tegeltija (SNSD), resigned due to his appointment as director of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA).

According to the legal provisions, it is necessary for the House of Representatives to confirm the appointment of the minister proposed by the chairperson of the Council of Ministers. Amidzic previously passed all the checks of the competent institutions, which determined that he meets the requirements to be a candidate for the Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH.

After the debate ended, the deputies, with 23 votes for, 18 against, appointed Amidzic as the Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH, who took a solemn oath in front of them.
