srebrenica-grad21This festival is organized by the Association ‘Friends of Srebrenica’ and is a traditional manifestation in Srebrenica and is the only festival in the region of eastern B&H.

The 7th film festival for short films ‘Srebrena Traka’ began last night. 30 short films from 10 countries in the world will be shown during the festival.

‘Srebrena Traka’ opened last night with a special screening of the feature film ‘Circles’ by Srđan Golubović.

The movie is based on the true story of Srđan Aleksić, a young man from Trebinje who was killed while trying to save his Bosniak friend during the conflict in the early 1990’s.

‘This is a story about humanity, about how things should be. I am proud of him, and I am certain that people from Srebrenica think the same’’, said Vesna Mustafić.

Organizers said that the aim of the festival is for the youth, art and life in Srebrenica to be the focus.

The film festival will last for three days and will show films with various themes and genres.

There will be acting workshops for young people tomorrow in Srebrenica and they will be led by actors Ivan Jeftović and Branko Vidaković, as well as animation workshops organized by ‘Asif’ from Sarajevo.

This year, the festival established cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts of Banja Luka.

The film festival was also organized under the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in B&H.
