Despite numerous restrictions caused by the coronavirus, the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) in Bosnia and Herzegovina has ensured the smooth start of the works on the construction of the Svilaj border crossing.

This is an extremely important border crossing located in the north of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the Corridor Vc. The deadline for the completion of works is 300 calendar days, is stated in the announcement from the ITA BiH.

The construction works are performed by a consortium of companies “Niskogradnja” Laktasi, “Alfa term” Mostar and “Tehton” Banja Luka.

The value of the contracted works is 18,713,999.35 BAM, including VAT.

The complex of the new Svilaj border crossing is planned to cover an area of 103,000 m2.

The new border crossing will have a separation of passenger and freight traffic, there will be four lanes at the entrance to BiH and three lanes at the exit from the country.

As part of the new border crossing, facilities will be built to accommodate ITA officers, the BiH Border Police and inspection services, and a facility to accommodate freight forwarders and bank offices.
