Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency today conducted an operative action codenamed “Var” in the area of Samac, Orasje and Novi Travnik, under orders from the Court and the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the implementation of the operative action, SIPA police officers searched five locations and imprisoned 12 persons on grounds of suspicion that they had committed a criminal offense under Article 250 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina “Organized Crime” and Article 383 of the CC of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Herzegovina “Abuse of office and authority”, in connection with the criminal offense referred to in Article 380 of the CC of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina “Receiving gifts and other forms of benefits”.

“The suspects are charged with setting football matches for the BiH Premier League and the FBiH First League. During the search, cell phones and other items that could be used as evidence in further criminal proceedings were discovered and seized and they will be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina for further action, “SIPA said.
