Statehood Day of BiH marked in Prague

A gala evening marking the Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held in Prague.

In the exceptional program, which was organized by the Embassy of BiH in the Czech Republic and Ambassador Martina Mlinarević, the event was graced by Bosnian singer-songwriter Maya Sar. On this occasion, she performed her Eurovision song “Korake ti znam” and other songs.

Before the anthems were sung, the flags of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Czech Republic were brought into the hall by veterans and generals of the Czech Army who served in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1990s, which was a wonderful way to thank them for their work.

The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Czech Republic also paid tribute to prominent Bosnians and Herzegovinans who have indebted our homeland with their dedicated work and engagement throughout all the years of their life in the Czech Republic, Zvjezdana Marković for tirelessly promoting the cultural heritage of BiH, one of the most famous Bosnians in the Czech Republic and a legend of FC Teplica to Admir Ljevaković for his sports merits, humanism and promotion of our country, to the married couple Aida and Mica Perić for their philanthropy, wholeheartedly helping all activities in presenting the cultural potential of BiH, and Prof. Aida Mujačić, pianist and vocalist who, with her work and life, makes everything alive and close to all Czechs.

They were awarded with the work of the celebrated academic painter Aldin Popaje from Jajce, who lives in Prague. More than 50 foreign ambassadors, high-ranking Czech political dignitaries and Bosnians and Herzegovinians graced the celebration in the historic Apollo theater last night.

A particularly emotional moment was when the female patients from the Alliance of Women with Breast Cancer of the Czech Republic, with whom Ambassador Mlinarević has been collaborating on all their projects since the very beginning, sang the song “My life is my song” with Maya Sar, which talks about the struggle of women with cancer. .
