Every year, the number of used cars imported in Bosnia and Herzegovina is increasing, while the number of new cars being imported has been stagnant for years.

According to the latest data from the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA), BiH has imported more than 52,000 vehicles worth about 705 million BAM until August this year.

Ratko Kovacevic, ITA spokesman f, told Avaz newspapers that a total of 45,654 were used cars and only 7,794 were new.

“Used cars with an average of several years, but such vehicles are cheaper in the market. The largest market for vehicles imported by citizens are vehicles from the VW, Citroen, Renault, Peugeot group, while the more expensive vehicles are Audi, Mercedes and BMW,” Kovacevic explained.

The most expensive car that was imported this year was the Bentley Continental GT Coupe, which cost 422,714 BAM, and additional import duties of 72,004 BAM were paid.
