Stoke City Transfer dayAsmir Begovic has admitted he is a doubt for Bosnia’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Israel, just hours after it was reported he would captain the side.

Begovic has delayed meeting up with his international teammates while he receives treatment at Stoke for a groin injury picked up against Tottenham.

He is due to fly out tomorrow and hopes he will be fit to feature in the match on Saturday.

“I had to stay in Stoke for a check-up but I will join my Bosnia team mates (on Wednesday) and hopefully will be ready for (the match against Israel),” he told for sportspor.ba

“I played through the pain after taking a knock in the groin in the first half against Tottenham and I will know more about my condition in a day or two, but there is a good chance I will be fit.”
