On 10 March 2026, the Commander of EUFOR, Major General Maurizio Fronda, met with the Deputy Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Policy and Plans, Slaven Galić, and the Deputy Minister of Defence for Resource Management, Aleksandar Goganović.

The two meetings focused on strengthening cooperation and reaffirming the shared commitment to peace, security, and stability for all people of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Discussions highlighted the importance of maintaining high professional standards and ensuring that the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina remain capable, prepared, and aligned with international best practices.

Deputy Ministers Galić and Goganović expressed their appreciation for EUFOR’s role as a guarantor of peace and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as their gratitude to the 25 nations contributing to the EUFOR mission.

Both sides emphasized that regular dialogue and close cooperation between EUFOR, the Ministry of Defence, and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina remain essential for preserving stability and strengthening confidence in the country’s institutions. Continued joint training and the development of strong professional partnerships were highlighted as key elements for maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Major General Fronda reaffirmed EUFOR’s strong cooperation with the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, underscoring EUFOR’s steadfast and impartial commitment to supporting the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all citizens, in line with its mandate. He reiterated EUFOR’s full commitment to supporting the development of capable, professional and resilient armed forces, highlighting that joint exercises such as Combined Response 2026 served to underpin the collaborative relationship between both EUFOR and AF BiH, and are a visible demonstration of unity of effort and shared responsibility for maintaining stability in BiH. He emphasized that cooperation with the Armed Forces of BiH remains a cornerstone of EUFOR’s mandate.

Strong partnerships, professional cooperation, and continuous dialogue remain the foundation for lasting stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
