Strong Earthquake struck Italy again

earthquackeAnother earthquake struck the central part of Italy. According to the EMCS, the earthquake that hit Italy this morning was 6.6 degrees on the Richter scale. Corriere said it was 7.1 degrees on the Richter scale, which is published by the US Geological Survey USGS, however they changed this data later . The earthquake caused panic and massive coming out of population into the streets because it was long lasting, while some telephone lines were interrupted as well, as reported by Italian news agency Ansa.

It was felt in Croatia as well. European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre announced on the website that an earthquake of 6.7 degrees on the Richter scale struck central Italy at 7.40 am and it was felt in the north and the south of Italy as well as in the neighboring countries of Croatia, Slovenia and BiH, and later they corrected the strength at 6.5 degrees on the Richter scale.

The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers, 68 kilometers south-east of Perugia, between Perugia and Macerata in Norcia. The Italian news agency stated that there is no information on casualties and damage yet, according to Index.
