Students in BiH sold plastic Bottles and collected Money for Turkey and Syria

Among the numerous actions initiated by the citizens of Gorazde in order to help the residents of Turkey and Syria after the devastating earthquakes, a valuable monetary donation from the students of the “Mehmedalija Mak Dizdar” Elementary School in the Sadba settlement of Gorazde is especially striking.

Even though there are only about 40 students there, they collected around 600 BAM by selling plastic packaging, and gave the money for the earthquake-affected areas.

“We previously launched a campaign to collect plastic packaging and cans and decided to donate the money for humanitarian purposes. In the meantime, an earthquake happened and then I sent a proposal to the school’s Viber group to pay that money to the Pomozi.ba organization for aid to Turkey and Syria. Teacher drew our attention to the fact that we don’t have enough bottles, so we organized an action during the weekend at one of the wild landfills and collected plastic bottles, and also cleaned the banks of the Drina,” said Amina Baljic, one of the participants of the action.

The company “Bosna Plastik” from Gorazde bought the packaging, and the students are already ready for a new campaign. This time they want to collect toys for the children of their age from the earthquake-ravaged areas, Klix.ba reports.
