Protests held in the cities across the country continue to have the great support of citizens, but they do not believe that these protests will bring radical changes, according to the research conducted by the company Valicon a month after the protests started.
The majority of citizens supported protests in the beginning and now 8 out of 10 citizens give their support to this kind of struggle for rights. It is important to emphasize that citizens of FB&H (9 out of 10) give their support to protests and in RS ( 7 citizens out 10). Citizens are not satisfied and they are pessimistic regardless of where they live.
Although, some politicians say that in the smaller B&H entity there is no reason for dissatisfaction, and anti-protest gatherings are held but almost two thirds of citizens of RS consider that the state organization of B&H should change.
56 % of citizens (65 % from FB&H and 39 % from RS) is for B&H society without ethnic division, but still the percentage of those who are against this idea is high, almost 20 % ( 13 % in FB&H and 32 % in RS).
Protests of citizens in the beginning had no common message but now they have and the message is: social changes are needed.
56 % of citizens ( 56 from FB&H and 56 from RS) think that the situation is getting worse, and 36 % of citizens think that B&H society stands in the same situation. Only 8 % of citizens think that things will get better. It is important to emphasize that only 56 % of citizens in B&H believe that elections can bring changes.
Also, the percentage of those who think that this is the only way to change things is high and the violence should be applied- 28 % in FB&H, 25 % in RS. Although in general, the majority of citizens think that protests can succeed without violence – 47 % of B&H citizens.
