Suspect Arrested in Connection with Woman’s Murder in Sarajevo

A shooting occurred in the Sarajevo neighborhood of Dobrinja today, in which one person was killed.

At 4:15 p.m., the Novi Grad Police Department was reported to have used a firearm in the Dobrinja neighborhood, on Omladinskih radne brigada Street. At 4:30 p.m., the Emergency Medical Service doctor pronounced the 41-year-old woman dead, the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior announced.

At 7:15 p.m., police officers from the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior Police Administration arrested a man named T.P. (1977) on suspicion of committing the crime of murder. The 49-year-old was arrested in the Stari Grad municipality.

The child the perpetrator took with him after committing the crime was found unharmed and is currently being cared for by experts.

The investigation, led by the prosecutor of the Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office, is still ongoing.
