The New York Police Department has released a photograph showing the face of a suspect in the murder of Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, one of the largest United States (U.S.)health insurance companies.
The police search for the male suspect continues, with evidence suggesting that authorities are getting closer to identifying and apprehending him as new crucial leads emerge.
The latest photos were captured from security camera footage at a Manhattan hostel, where police believe the suspect had been staying.
Earlier released photos showed the suspect with a mask covering his face. Among the uncovered evidence are a mobile phone and bullet casings found at the murder scene, inscribed with the words: “deny,” “defend” and “depose”.
The mentioned hostel has been searched, and a fingerprint was discovered during the investigation, indicating that the police are close to determining the suspect’s identity. Authorities believe the murder was premeditated and carefully planned.
Thompson was shot two days ago in the back with a silenced pistol. The murder occurred as he was about to enter the Hilton Hotel in Manhattan, where an annual investors’ conference was being held.
The suspect fled the scene on an electric bicycle, heading toward nearby Central Park. No arrests have been made so far, and the police are offering a 10.000 dollars reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest.
