students_celebratingAfter it appeared in the media for the past few days that Sweden lacks students from countries outside the EU in order to continue to be competitive on the global economic scene, journalists from Anadolu Agency researched what type of scholarships and the amount that this country offers students from Balkan countries to study in Sweden.

Every year, the Swedish Institute gives scholarships for students from Western Balkan countries that manage to enter graduate studies in this rich Scandinavian country, and this year the number of students for students from the Balkans has increased. This year, students from the Balkans will be given from 10-15 scholarships, which covers all costs for living, as well as the tuition at the university in which the student is accepted, for a period of two years.

Students from Albania, B&H, Kosovo and Serbia can apply, and the application lasts from 3 to 11 February 2014.

The tuition fee is paid directly by the Swedish Institute to the university where the student is enrolled, while the scholarship is given to the student, and amounts to 9,000 Swedish Krunas, or 1,020 Euros a month (something more than 2,000 BAM).

In addition, all travel expenses are paid for students in the amount of 5,000 Swedish Krunas, or 570 Euros.
