Szijjarto in Banja Luka: Western Balkan Countries are ready for European Integration

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto assessed today in Banja Luka that the Western Balkan countries are ready for European integration and that Hungary supports such a policy.

“It is a bad joke that Brussels believes that Ukraine is more ready for European integration than the Western Balkan countries. The Western Balkan countries are ready, they could provide economic development for the EU, while Ukraine brings only danger, war and the Ukrainian mafia. The EU could get that from Ukraine,” assessed Szijjarto.

He claims that for Hungary, stability, security and peace in the Western Balkans are of primary importance in terms of national security.

“There is a war going on with our eastern neighbors, so destabilization in the south could have tragic consequences for Hungary,” he emphasized.

According to him, Hungary is pursuing a responsible neighbor policy within the framework of which they are doing everything to preserve peace and stability in the Western Balkans.

“That is why we support the European integration of this region,” said Peter Szijjarto, who was awarded an honorary doctorate at the University of Banja Luka today.
