The town of Visoko used to be the center of the medieval state of Bosnia.

The Old Town Visoko, its suburb and market center Podvisoki, Mile as the crowning place of the Bosnian kings, and Mostre, which occasionally played the role of the seat of the kings, are just part of the wealth that Visoko has in its rich history. Today, Visoko can boast with the valley of pyramids, and its origin is yet to be found.

Ajas-beg is considered to be the founder of the modern town of Visoko.
